Research and Development Projects
DM Consulting continues to make progress on the two research and development projects awarded by the National Shipbuilding Research Program (NSRP).
 
Dry Dock Block Contact Indicator System
The purpose of this project is to design and test a block contact detection system. The system has been designed, the components purchased, and assembled. Bench testing will be completed soon. Additional information and progress reports are available from our website:

Alternate Blocking Materials
The purpose of this project is to design and test three different materials as candidates for replacing structural elements of dry dock blocks. High Density Polyethylene (HDPE) has been used for drydocking ships and is undergoing lab testing. Additional information and progress reports are available from our website:
